In a sea of oversaturated electronic dance artists, one could find it difficult to not ride that wave of mediocrity and inauthenticity. Founder of record label RIS Labs, Eric Sharp, manages to set himself apart with genuine quality and fresh productions.
Mr. Sharp has the ability to create clean, minimal, deep sounds with melodic vocals. The ingredient of dreamy grooves and catchy lyrics result in an earworm that we graciously welcome. Last fall, we couldn’t get enough of Whitney Fierce’s sultry “Ah, Ah, ahhhs” on record, “Wait Just Wait”. This year we find ourselves relating to the overall theme of hunger in the night with October 9th release, “Slow Me Down”, a collaboration between Eric Sharp & Tenova.
Eric released his Sharp Cuts EP on Win Music (home of Duke Dumont, Tiga) in 2013. Featuring vocals from Anna Lunoe, Daisy O’Dell and Siouxsie Black, and a co-production from George Cochrane, these songs cemented Sharp as an artist. He has continued to build upon this foundation with remixes for Atlantic Records’ Melanie Martinez, Grammy-winning Jars Of Clay, and the fast growth of the RIS Labs imprint with press across the globe taking note.
