CRSSD brings a fantasy line up to the Southern California dance festival circuit. The third installment of the CRSSD franchise brings tech house heavy hitters back to the San Diego Bay Waterfront. Last spring, we vividly remember running through the grass field and straight to the main stage to catch the much anticipated Damian Lazarus and The Ancient Moons. The tribal beats and hypnotic drum patterns caught the attention of a double decker tour bus that actually stopped at the side of the road and watched a crowd of spring breakers sweating and dancing their hearts out to a few songs from the performance. There was virtually no gap time frame in the schedule, the entire weekend consisted of originators and up and comers in the game with artists such as: Simian Mobile Disco vs Roman Flugel, Maceo Plex, Jamie Jones b2b Seth Troxler and Hot Natured.
We got nostalgic to LA locals, Classixx during their hit "I'll get you" and screamed at the top of our lungs asking "Do you like bass, do ya, do ya like bass!?". As I watched Tensnake, I felt to ocean breeze in the air and took note of the the gorgeous downtown San Diego sky line that served as the the backdrop, all of this resembled a Ultra-Miami type of vibe to me. We cooled down in the water fountains as the sun set amongst an atmosphere of palm trees during an Odessa set and enjoyed the rest of our weekend at the waterfront.
One year later, I see a line up that collectively showcases talent that headlines the most sought after international festivals from Croatia to Barcelona.
We have artists representing from almost every corner of the world, Berlin, Toronto and England to name a few. Tale Of Us, Tiga, Sacha Robotti, Tycho and a handful of return performers like Jamie Jones, Damian Lazarus fill the spring CRSSD Fest 2016 rooster. DesiresLA.org is looking forward to what this year's chapter will lead to.
